Get ready for a fantastic week of Playtonic Ds! Today I posted a review of the emerging Brooklyn-based band Datus’ EPs Masc, Fem, and Neut, and my email Q&A sessions with the band will be posted later this week. Also, concert reviews for some of the most talked about indie bands around will be filtering in throughout the week. But first, some Radiohead news and a new song that you won’t want to miss…
While checking twitter I came across a tweet from Radiohead news announcing that Radiohead played a new song at their Haiti benefit gig in LA. Well, it turns out that it was just Thom Yorke on guitar who played the song “Lotus Flower”, however below is a video of that performance:
Another piece of information that I picked up from Radiohead News is that Radiohead will cover Peter Gabriel’s ‘Wallflower’ for Gabriel’s ‘I’ll Scratch Yours’ project. Read more here.
Finally, Winnie sent me the following article from BBC News which reports that “Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien warns of money pressure.” As Winnie paraphrased it for me, “It’s all about how money is ruining music, but how there’s a bright future despite this and there are new opportunities for creative artists.” Read the BBC article here.
