Hey Playtonics,

On Monday I posted my review of Datus’ EPs Masc, Fem, and Neut. If you haven’t already, give these albums a listen at their website. For this new segment titled “Getting to Know You”, I plan to give you all a closer look at emerging bands and artists.  I am always curious about how bands create their music so I would like to share my findings. Introducing: Datus

Hey Playtonics,

On Monday I saw this brief but enticing post on Brooklyn Vegan:

Catch them live tonight (1/18) at Bruar Falls (in Brooklyn). They’re on the same free bill as Nerve City.

Intrigued by the prospect of “fantastic songs streaming” on the band’s website, I hopped over to http://www.datusproject.com/ and streamed Datus’ series of EPs, Masc, Fem, and Neut. What I heard was fresh and exciting in a way that compelled me to find out more… (more…)
